Stormy thoughts, hectic schedule

Loyal readers:

My mind is a stormcloud of cynical thoughts. My Liberal party, it seems, cannot find unity in its opposition status. At every turn, they have allowed themselves to be outfoxed by Stephen Harper, and have, in the face of adversity, allowed petty rivalries, grudges, and outright selfishness to erode their unity and besmirch their public image.

How else can you explain the fact that Jamie Carroll's misguided Quebec/China comment was leaked to the press by members of his own party? Or that John Manley agreed to chair a high-profile panel on Afghanistan, exonerating the Conservatives on one of their only areas of electoral weakness in the process? Or that Jean Chretien, one of our supposed elder-statesman, chose, on what could have been the eve of a federal election, to tear open the recently-stitched wounds of the Chretien/Martin feud , just to suit his book-signing schedule?

My party is in disarray. And my thoughts on this are many.

But, loyal readers, the schedule of my Master's program is keeping me from chronicling my ideas. I find myself with little time to do this blog justice. So for the time being, at least over the month of November, my political commentary will be sparse.

I will of course pick up my blogging responsibilities come December. But for now, postings will only be made when inspiration and leisure time coincide.

your misguided in your analysis, its not harp whos outfoxing anyone, actually get him in a corner and his foot will end in his mouth, the liberals are been attacked by the media, dion did nothing out of the ordinary, no government has ever fallen on the throne speech, the consies cheated on the last election, the crime bill would of been law if not for the proroguing of the house, so on..the media are manipulating both sides for an election, why? probably because they know they can do it, and with the help of uninformen people, like.....yourself, are helping the harp get reelected...instead of harping about the liberals, why not bypass, the media and go after them and the harp, dont blog acording to what you read from the media, but what is really hapening..

..and anonymous, your take on 'what is really happening' is both partisan and truly uninformed.

The consies cheated on the last election?

*sigh*

And here's a question you really have to ask yourself: Given how the Liberals have handled the problems within their own party, can voters really trust them to run the government and therefore the country?

I'm afraid the answer is no. Not until they actually work out how to work together, rather than pretend that party tensions don't exist as they have done in the past 10 months.

Due respect anonymous, but I don't think it does the party any good to turn a blind eye to its failings. We do the Liberals no favours by apologizing for their internal feuds and divisions, or by blaming the media for the party's problems. Instead, we should provide criticism where criticism is due, and ask the party to be better than it is. And it could be loads, loads better.

Let's face these problems honestly. It's by looking at the party critically that we can identify its weaknesses and, hopefully, correct them.

Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!

Mike
